Life drawing

I love life drawing, and don't do anywhere near enough of it. Time, costs and just finding a class or group can defeat even the most eager beaver. And no, I cannot ask my nearest'n'dearests* to strip off and shiver whilst watching the One show. Just not done.

Here a few from a class ages ago.

I have said this before, but I am always amazed at how little you need to put down to tell the story.

How the eye makes sense of so few marks.

  1. Meant to add at the bottom. If anyone knows of a good life drawing class in the St. Albans area, let me know.

  2. Despite the economy of the lines there is a very real and full musculature to these pieces – I like them.

  3. Those are great! I try to make it to the life drawing sessions at here in St. Louis least once a month. It's a bit of a drive, since I pretty much live in the country, so I don't make it as often as I'd like to.

It's amazing the difference to me between working from life, and working from a photo.
