Listening

This guy turned to look at his friend when his friend was talking, but then, when he was talking he looked away into the middle distance.

Is this something we all do ? Must investigate more.

New book.

Have a new sketch book. It's a sort of cheap imitation Moleskine, but I like it a lot. It's pages are yellowy creamy smooth and good for pen.

These were done on the tram in Manchester one saturday.

I liked how this guy was sitting in the seat in front of his friends, and sat sideways with his arm over the seat to talk to them. 

She moved.

Was taken by this woman sitting on a bench, chatting to her friend...

But every time I started her in one position, she shifted her whole body into another one, and again, and again. She was so animated, leaning forward, then back, smoking, fiddling with her bag... finally waving to someone across the square who joined them, before they all left.

Hyper-something I'd say.

Thought I would have to abandon her, but then caught this one pose. Did have to close my eyes and complete it by memory as she was up and halfway down Dean Street before I could finish.

Liked her boots.

56 - 57 Kensington Library

Was waiting for someone outside Kensington Library, lunch time. And two builders/workmen were perched on the railing by the main door, eating their dockey and chatting. Sketched them both while I waited.

One leant forward, and listened as his mate did all the talking, telling some unbelievable story...

...possibly involving scaffolding.
