Half a face

This guy had a great face, very angular. But he was very conscious of me sketching and was very unsettled by it, so I stopped, but looking at it later I really like it.

Despite being only half a face.

I hope he doesn't mind.

This year's sensation

We've all been hooked by the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, ( in at least one of it's many versions ).

And are ravenously eager for more.

Well the wait is over, because I give you...

... the Girl with three bobbles on her hat.

01.01 01 01 2012

No, I'm not posting in binary, this sketch was done at one minute past one this morning, on the platform of Farringdon station, ( which is how I know what time it was ) waiting for the last train home.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE

Secret Standby

We are doing secret Santa and I have the standby prop man. So this is part of his present.

I caught him checking continuity photos on his camera, just before a take.

A good standby prop man need the foresight of a clairvoyant, the patience of Job, the fixing skills of a NASA engineer, and the attentiveness of a Mother hen.

And, of course, a good camera.

So, K, if you aren't mortally offended by this and would like the sketch. It's yours. If not it stays in the sketch book.

Either way... Happy christmas.

Can there be too many lines ?

It's like the joke about the critic who looks at a drawing and says there are too many lines, but in this case.... This sketch makes the subject look agitated, but I don't think she was.

It's just how I ended up drawing her. Apologies Lady. For the lines and for the unsettling.

Marks

It's all just marks on a page, random and meaningless until you ( yes, you ) look at them.

Ponder that Mister.

Happy advent.

Have you opened your first window yet ? Eaten that first chocolate ?

Kids have got it so much better, when I was a youth all you had to look forward to was a manky picture of a jack in a box, or a robin on a log, and the climax was always the baby Jesus, not a scrummy Mars mini treat.

Anyway. A quick sketch for the 1st of December, and... the start of my third year of doing this.
