I love life drawing, and don't do anywhere near enough of it. Time, costs and just finding a class or group can defeat even the most eager beaver. And no, I cannot ask my nearest'n'dearests* to strip off and shiver whilst watching the One show. Just not done.
Here a few from a class ages ago.
I have said this before, but I am always amazed at how little you need to put down to tell the story.
Those are great! I try to make it to the life drawing sessions at here in St. Louis least once a month. It's a bit of a drive, since I pretty much live in the country, so I don't make it as often as I'd like to.
It's amazing the difference to me between working from life, and working from a photo.

Meant to add at the bottom. If anyone knows of a good life drawing class in the St. Albans area, let me know.
ReplyDeleteDespite the economy of the lines there is a very real and full musculature to these pieces – I like them.
